Bay 3 TV officials met with a Charter Communications representative to discuss the changes to the Bay 3 TV lineup. As reported last week, the public access channel will move from channel three to 99. While nothing new came from Edward Kavanaugh, Charter Communication's government relations manager at the meeting, the Bay 3 TV partners began discussing a possible name change and brought up an idea of adding a more regional public access channel.

The newly-elected Bay City Commissioners were sworn in tonight during their first regular Commission meeting at Bay City Hall. Commissioner Dennis Banaszak, 3rd Ward, Jim Irving, 5th Ward, Douglas Sommer, 7th Wad and Larry Elliott, 9th Ward, all took the oath of office promising to uphold the U.S. and state constitutions.

CHARLESTON - The Coast Guard says it appears crews have cleaned up almost all the oil spilled into Charleston Harbor earlier this week. Officials said Friday no new oil sheen has been seen on the harbor waters, and there is little oil left on nearby beaches on Sullivan's Island, Folly Beach and Kiawah Island.

After hearing a nearly hour-long presentation from members of the RiversEdge Development Corp. earlier in Monday night's City Commission meeting, commissioners voted unanimously to spend nearly $300,000 to market the site and hire a lobbying and consulting firm to find federal funds. Commissioners approved spending $100,000 from the Economic Opportunities Fund to help with marketing for the 40-acre site along the Saginaw River. Anderson put on a feast for their audience's eyes, with each designer being at a different stage in their work. First up, Katie Eary displayed the dissection of the human body, using ribcage graphics, pigskin glasses and frayed denim, a very fresh and dynamic collection.

The MAN show at London Fashion Week is always a chance for the boys to get flashy, and obviously the first place to go shopping for new British menswear talent. It was no exception Thursday night when the nine candidates for five commission seats gathered at a Candidates Forum sponsored by the South End Citizens District Council.

About 30 residents turned out Thursday night to learn a little more about the nine candidates vying for five spots on the Bay City Commission. Candidates for Wards 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 answered several questions submitted by the audience pertaining to road repairs, economic development and public safety. The Candidates Forum was sponsored by the South End Citizens District Council.
